A Faith-Based Approach to Healing
The wounds we carry from childhood have a way of showing up long after we think we've outgrown them. We encounter them in various ways, such as in the way we love, the way we parent, the way we face conflict, and how we handle disappointment. You may have spent years trying to outrun what happened to you, only to find it showing up in your closest relationships. You don’t need to pretend anymore that the hurt didn't happen., you can bring it to God exactly as it is, and let Him begin the beautiful work of restoring what was broken.
There will be days when old pain resurfaces without warning, but this is not a regression or failure, but part of the process. Scripture reminds us that God is close to the brokenhearted and He is in the business of making all things new, including the parts of us that were shaped by pain. If you are willing to sit with Him in the hard work of remembering, grieving, and releasing, you will find that the same God who was present in your childhood is present now, leading you toward wholeness.
Take His hand; He is not in a hurry, and you don’t have to be either.
He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. Psalm 147:3 (NLT)
